		<description>I used to call myself a singer-songwriter, but realizing the same problems you&#039;ve identified with that label, I now call myself a performing songwriter. For me, it indicates that my music and lyrics are primary and my personality and ego are secondary. It also creates a healthy separation between the songwriter and the character being portrayed in the song (because, contrary to popular belief, songwriters who perform their own songs often DO write works of complete fiction).</description>
